For a while now, it’s kind of just been me and the open road. Too many months to count spent biking around Ooo, wheels in the dirt, and wind in my hair—nothing but me and the brief connections you’d make on these sorts of travels. It’s easy to let yourself get lost out there in the big wide world, and even easier to lose track of how long you’ve been away from home.

Fairy Ring Au. A wish granting fairy of the Seelie court is a little bored with the prim and proper protocols of his court decides to explore outside of the forever spring of their shared forest with other benevolent creatures – however a sudden rainstorm forced the winged fay to seek shelter.
He was sharing shelter with an enemy of his court.
The beetle like member of the unseelie court is not pleased about waiting out the rainstorm with the other either.

Finn and Fern have grown up in a world full of magic and fantasy, and both of them aspire to be heroes that help others. The both of them are still kids though, and all they really do is adventure to find some fun with their friend Jake, but with a place like Ooo, many things can happen. Can they take it on? Or will they be blown away like dust off the wall?

(fandom grandma voice) back in my day AT fans were 20 year old stoners, there's a lot more teens around now just discovering it because of Fionna and Cake, and while I cannot stop them from reading my VERY EXPLICIT AU I'd rather they have something more appropriate to consume, so, here we are. All E rated scenes have been rewritten or wholly removed if they hold no plot significance.
“I saw Fern when I was taken by the Lord of Eternity,” he utters against his palm before dropping it, “and he said something that’s stuck with me this whole time. I think about it constantly.” Finn glares towards his feet, narrowing his eyes and baring his teeth. “‘I can’t save everyone, and maybe not everyone needs saving. Do I really think everyone’s better off because of me.’ He was right and I got him killed because I couldn’t just accept that he didn’t need my ‘help’.” His eyes squeeze shut, knuckles turning white as he fists his hand at his side. “I’m tired, Prismo,” Finn whispers, voice crackling roughly over the tar in his lungs.

Summary
This is a ~30 page comic that can be read without knowledge of the rest of the series and can be read as platonic.
Their soul snakes in on itself like flustered birds panicking in their chests as it tries to magnetize and recombine when within a certain distance of one another, and so Fern's job of stalking Finn turns into a headache of trying to keep his silence in all his double's one sided ramblings.
This comic starts after the confrontation in Seventeen and ends with Penelope (Finn's next incarnation in the comics) entering the Heart of the Forest, nostalgic sensation rushing down her spine as she relearns that 'everything stays but it still changes' one thousand years in the future.
