Summary
So, the general idea of this fanfic is that Chara never commits suicide and because of it they are still alive when the other humans come to the Underground.
They still hate humanity, but nevertheless aren't willing to commit suicide as they don't wish to leave their family behind, even if that selfishness means Monsters remain trapped in the Underground.
Then four years into their era the second of the eight humans arrives to the Underground, the one who arrived didn't trust Monsters and had in fact come to confirm whether the first human was dead, the fact that they weren't may be the only reason some peaceful resolution can be attained one day...unlikely, however.

Summary
This the story of Kingdomtale, an au I created that's essentially Undertale if it took place in the medieval century. It's not historically accurate but it's my take on this popular concept. I have already posted a series for this au but have grown dissatisfied with it. I know I can write something better. This is the new and improved Kingdomtale, and it's going to come back even stronger and better than before. My hope is that this story can feel nostalgic in a way, like you are experiencing Undertale all over again for the first time.
Here is just a quick snippet of the plot: The year is 15XX, and another human has fallen down Mount Ebott. This human is no more than a child, having woken up in a bed of golden flowers. How did they get there? They'll soon discover a world of monsters, magic, and much more. Can one human child bring peace between two different races that have been forced to share one Kingdom? Well, you'll just have to read to see if the story is still as you remember it.

Sans looked at the ceiling in pure boredom, unable to sleep as he listened the guards opening the gates of the inmates one by one. It didn't take long for him to hear a guard slamming his club against the bars of his cell.
He'd been told a doctor wanted to do check up on all the inmates, so he didn't really question it when he was forcibly pulled out of his cell so early.
Being pushed around wasn't fun, but at least it was exciting to meet new people that weren't convicts. They had a tendency to be assholes and not appreciate his humour anyway.
"Sans?"
He saw you, with half on your face covered by a mask as your eyes squinted in curiosity.
You were looking at him so intensively, it almost made him feel uncomfortable.
"Please, have a seat."

So, uhh, I have dyslexic, and this is my first story, so sorry if the story come out slow. But hopefully I don't forget about this. And the main thing I should say this a full rewrite of underlust, because in my opinion at least the story not that good. A long long time ago two races roamed the earth, humans and monsters. One day war broke out between the two kingdoms that shared the land. The humans won the war and used magic to seal up the monsters on one half of the kingdom using a barrier, blocking all existing routes by mountain and by sea around the land.

Frisk is a girl but only uses nonbinary pronouns unless stated otherwise. Frisk is also gonna be unnamed for most of the three part series as I decided it would be cool to keep it close to cannon that way and have Frisk go unnamed until after the final boss fight.
