Now he's messed everything up just because he wanted that feeling of belonging.
They were a pack and now they weren't. -

Summary
Don never expected, wrestling with his own feelings for other men, to fall in love. That first day in Africa when he met his new tank gunner however he knew something big had changed. But besides a few fleeting, heated kisses in the rare instances when they could be well and truly alone, they'd never had a chance to act on their feelings. Summary
Don and Boyd are used to hiding their relationship in the open, surrounded by the whole army or by the crew of Fury. They're careful, they don't make mistakes, and no one even thinks to call them out on anything. Except for that one time in which all their carefully nonchalant behavior around each other wavers, someone looks hard enough, and they're found out. This is five times before then in which they weren't and how they handled it when they were.

Summary
The war gets to us all and sometimes no matter how hard Don tries to keep it together, the war gets to him too.
""You got a face not spoiled by beauty
I have some scars from where I’ve been
You’ve got eyes that can see right through me
You’re not afraid of anything they’ve seen
I was told that I would feel nothing the first time
I don’t know how these cuts heal
But in you I found a rhymeIf there is a light you can’t always see
And there is a world we can’t always be
If there is a dark that we shouldn’t doubt
And there is a light, don’t let it go out"" -

Summary
Still, the man is not what he’d been hoping for in a gunner. He’s got soft edges and a Bible tucked in his belt – neither makes for a good killer, and he’s already wondering how long this one will last.
He points the man towards the fresh from factory Sherman and tells him to settle in.
Or,
A collection of 'alphabet-soup' vignettes following Wardaddy and Bible’s relationship, with a very healthy dose of Grady, Gordo, Norman and ‘Red’.
