Summary
This series follows a new original character, Kevran, in an alternate reality from the main canon of Doctor Who (which I am dubbing the "Orchidverse" since I will be incorporating a plethora of science-fiction canons, which I believe could all exist in the same universe!)
Explore the tales of an alternate Gallifrey through the eyes of the Panopticon Archive's very own Assistant Librarian as his day-to-day life is slowly consumed by ever-growing espionage and dangerous journeys.
The series features numerous original characters, including Time Lords and companions, as well as a collection of both canon and original planets and creatures for Kevran to interact with! Each story's a new adventure, with some that stand alone and others that fit into a wider arc for the character. Who knows what awaits the curious archivist and their future as the Panopticon's Assistant Librarian?
This is my first genuine attempt at fan fiction, so please provide feedback on anything, and I can try to incorporate that into future stories/series. I don't know how long I intend to run this series for, but I hope you enjoy your time in this fun little fiction of mine, and that my characters/adventures bring some joy to your days!

The Doctor screams: like a child, like an animal, like a thing, because that’s all she is, isn’t she?
A thing.
She’s distantly aware that there is voice screaming that is not her own; harmonizing horror, millennia old lullaby. She knows it belongs to the Master. It’s right there, if she’d turn to look – how he gargles salt water, how he coughs up bile and blood like he’s made of it, and how he’s calling out her name, her actual name, as if she’s actually going to help him.
She doesn’t hear him. Not at all.

“This isn’t a package tour with some recommended phrases for beginners,” he pointed out. Nevertheless, he bundled up the concept of a plea in it’s most universal form and she parroted it back with a good three quarters of the meaning. “Fascinating.”
“What?”
He tried to nudge it a little closer to full comprehension, but encountered an unexpectedly rigid sorting system in the way. “How do you keep track of anything in here?”
“Oi, you’re one to talk!” Donna shooed him out of the way and somehow managed to slot the concept in herself, working around the hard angles. She repeated it back, much closer to full comprehension and he tried to nudge the last little bits into alignment. “Don’t be so nitpicky!”
“Meaning matters,” he said, and tried to show her the concept in his own mental landscape, but it just seemed to make her dizzy. “And you wanted to jump right into relationships.” Donna spun out a bit, like she was looking for a center of gravity in his decentralized mind, and he nudged her back out of the eleven-dimensional construct before she got too lost. “We’ll build up to that.”
“No wonder you can never focus,” Donna said, still a bit green around the gills. “…All right, let me off of this crazy ride.”

Summary
There were only two tried and true ways she knew to pick the Doctor’s brain when he was being purposefully secretive. The first was to go out of her way to figure out the secret herself. The faster, though more emotionally taxing way was to ambush him and ask. It was a bit of a cat and mouse game and a bit unfair and sometimes it didn’t work and just shut him off some more— but the alternative could and was going to take a lot of time.
