After the horrifying and drastic events that took place at Hackett's Quarry, Ryan needs time to process things. He feel so uncertain about his feelings, but Dylan is determined to win Ryan's heart all over again. And oh well, of course he did!
On a sweet road trip to wondrous places, the two boys finally let go of the past and dive deeper into their relationship. The perfect end of a "summer", as it should have been back then - or something like that.

Summary
After a bad dream at Hackett's Quarry Summer Camp, Dylan wakes up in the middle of the night. To combat the anxious feeling keeping him from sleeping again, he leaves his cabin to sit outside- where he meets the acquaintance of Ryan, sat by a tree.
As conversation kicks up, topics are brought up between friends, like "hey what's that podcast about," "hey, how is it being an openly gay guy," and "hey, are you ready to go back to the cabin now?"
The night serves as a good distraction from the nightmare Dylan woke up from, and he couldn't be more grateful. -

Kaitlyn watched as the car dropped, crushing the beast below it. She panted, watching as the creature lay still, leaving her safe. "You did it!" She called, "You got it! Dylan! Dylan?"
She got no response.
Scrambling to her feet she rushed to the stairs, racing up to the crane room. Dylan was tilted forwards, chin to chest, eyes fluttering closed, open, closed, open like he could barely stay awake.
The adrenaline had run out.

Summary
The counselors survived the terrible night of horror, but now they have to deal with the aftermath of guilt and nightmares. Everything good seems lost and overshadowed...
Ryan in particular have a hard time dealing with the events and aftermath, which is why he withdraws completely and breaks off contact with Dylan and the others. Ryan suffers badly from nightmares, but Dylan suffers badly too because of Ryan and his stubborn, dismissive nature. And Kaitlyn can't take all the tears and suffering any longer. She had to do something.
The spark of love that ignited around the epic campfire seems to have died, or is there still hope that Dylan and Ryan can still get back together after all that's happened? Can the two finally let go of the past drastic events in order to finally be happy together? In any case, Kaitlyn would do anything to give them one last chance to do so.
