It is of no wonder that the industry in Tokyo was doomed to face repercussions, but nobody probably expected that artists of all kinds were to drop dead one by one in the span of several weeks.
Suguru Geto has developed a purpose, a performance of his own, if you will -- to cleanse and rid the music scene in Japan from the poison that threatens to overtake it. It is that precisely that drives him towards Satoru Gojo, a lonesome virtuoso born within the profession, who just so happens to be completely undeterred by the prospect of becoming the newest target to the mysterious murderer. He tries to settle into his mattress, shifting over nonexistent lumps.
It’ll be fine, he thinks. Most kids, the ones born without an intergenerational malediction carved in their hearts, do this as an almost-expectation. They don’t abandon their old lives or the people in them just because they get a degree. Megumi won’t either.
