Summary
It all started with a sneeze. Not just any sneeze—a powerful, window-rattling, plant-toppling sneeze. A sneeze that could have registered on the Richter scale if anyone had been paying attention. And it came, impossibly, from Clark Kent.
Lois stood frozen in her apartment doorway, having narrowly dodged the artificial hallway fern that now lay face-down on the floor, its cracked plastic pot spilling pebbles across the carpet. Her jaw dropped. First at the plant, then Clark, who was standing there sheepishly, with tissues in hand.
Something was very wrong.

Because of some Lex Luthor-related evil shenanigans, Clark manages to catch an infection and is stuck suffering through cold and flu symptoms for the next week. Lois doesn't know what to do and ends up taking him back home to Smallville for some help.
She ends up getting more than she bargains for when this next adventure gives her an opportunity to experience the simple joys of peaceful farm life.

Both are souls marred with anger, Kara kept hers buried under the surface while Oliver’s defined his mission. In the natural order of their respective worlds, they never should have met. The damage done when they do could change everything for good.

Many people might have thought his decision had been made lightly, the foolish whim of a young man in love, but he had thought for months and months before coming to that conclusion. He had seen Damian become a shadow of his former self, had felt his pain when he screamed in frustration at every fall and the way he scraped his lower lip until it bled whenever he was forced to call for help, and most of all he had heard his constant heartbeat in his ears that reminded him how much Damian was suffering.

Especially for someone like Damian. He had been raised to be perfect, a novice Alexander the Great who would rule the world, and as much as his life had changed when he began fighting alongside his father, that further change had disrupted his integrity.

It was a nightmare and it has to stay that way, 'cause he doesn't want to remember those things or think about them. He wants to remember the time before, the moments when everything seemed easier, when those long nights on patrol had nothing to offer but hugs and kisses stolen secretly under a cowl, and it's by tuning in to this that little by little his breath returns and the anxiety slips away again, far away, into a corner of his mind that he closes tightly behind him.

Years ago he would have looked at himself with dissent and wrinkled his nose at the mere thought of having gone soft, but a little voice inside him quickly admonishes him and reminds him that his isn't weakness, it's strength. He has learned to trust people, not to consider everyone an enemy or just a pawn to get to power; he has understood that not everything has always been due to him and that his value should not be proved by fighting, and that feeling empathy for others does not mean trampling on one's own ideals. And being there with Jon, after all he's been through, is something he wouldn't change for the world.
