Summary
Not everyone who is half-Greek-god and half-mortal makes it into Camp Half-Blood; those whose mortal parent has wronged the gods in some unforgivable way are cursed never to see the camp's protection.
Most of the cursed children die young, what with the monster attacks, but some defy the odds.
Uma, daughter of Poseidon, and Harry, son of Nemesis, have managed to survive for years outside of camp. Gil, son of Artemis (not that anyone can believe him about that), never even knew there was a camp, let alone whether he'd be allowed inside it. As they grow together, they come to realize how unfair their lot is, as Cursed-Borns.

Summary
People died all the time on the Isle and no one cared. So what would happen if two more died too?
Gil will make sure no one ever calls Uma Shrimpy again.
And if the second mate happens to kill a backstabbing snake so they can’t ever look at Harry again with those lying eyes of theirs in order to relieve some of the tightening pressure in Gil’s heart and the sickening turning in his stomach at the thought of the two teens together, then so be it.
To think they all could have been friends.
