In the grim darkness of the Koronus Expanse, beyond the borders of the Imperium, is the realm of Rogue Traders. This is the novelisation of the eponymous game, where a former Commissar has been called to take up the mantle of the von Valancius dynasty. Despite the stain of past shame, she must uncover the mysteries sowed by her predecessor, the enigmatical Theodora, and face Chaos cults, political factions of varying morality, as well as the xenos threat. And romance, too.
Updates happen either on Wednesday and/or Sunday.
The Heinrix smut happens first in chap 10, then 20, 36, 42, and more to come.

Heinrix looked at the Seneschal. “Speak.”
“Would your duty allow you to perform this under duress? I can speak for myself and my people that no one would doubt your devotion considering all she has done for us, as well as for the Inquisition, but if that is not enough…”
Marazhai broke into laughter so intense he was almost crying.
Heinrix pinched the bridge of his nose. “Sorry, are you. Offering to threaten me?”
“If it would help.”
“And if it would not?”
Abelard rested a hand on the hilt of his chainsword. “I would no longer be asking.”

A pirate and an Interrogator of the Holy Inquisition walk into Footfall- Not really, but you do find Van Calox annoying enough when he shows up to question Tocara about the smuggling he's been doing. Arrogant, self-assured and more than a little annoying, the agent does nothing to help you foster kind feelings towards his organization. When he pulls you into an empty room for questioning - that only worsens the case. Or perhaps not.
“I reconsidered your suggestion.” The man starts slowly, victorious in his tone of voice, and makes a step forward, reaching the end of the bed. “I would very much like to see what your tongue can do. First and foremost – you will tell me what exactly Tocara is smuggling in and out of Footfall.”
Your eyebrows furrow and you scoff, defiant at this show of authority. “You have picked a wrong person, agent. Liege is not telling me more than what I absolutely need to know.”
“Liar. But I have my methods of getting the truth, one way or another.” He smirks and there’s undisguised cruelty in Van Calox’s eyes. One that makes a shiver run down your spine.

But when she looks at Abelard, her trusted Seneschal and her lover, all she sees is a stranger. Worse than a stranger, even — certainly so for Abelard himself, who suffers in quiet stoicism as the woman he is so passionately devoted to fails, time and again, to recognize him. Until he cannot take it any longer and, losing his usual common sense under the influence of amasec at a "Rejoice, we are not traitors!" Only a naive fool would believe that the Interrogator's unwelcome presence on Ekaterina Stubbs' voidship was due to a mutual interest in rooting out cult activity - or, even more laughably, an attempt to protect her, should the cult try to murder her like they murdered her predecessor. Far more likely that the Inquisition wanted to keep an eye on her, to see if she reached out to any of her old connections.
But if that was the case, why did Heinrix van Calox not make any formal accusations? Why did he willingly follow her into danger?
When he said her name, why did he say it with such strange softness?
