Ursa looked down at her daughter, her heart swelling with love and fear. The baby’s tiny face was serene, her golden eyes blinking up at her mother with an innocent curiosity.
The Fire Sages entered soon after, their robes brushing the floor as they approached the newborn. They studied her carefully, their expressions unreadable. Ursa held her breath, waiting for their judgment.
