“I don’t. I have two left feet,” Shiro replies, amusement glimmering on his face – though Keith can see the darkness in those pretty eyes. Keith pouts, a subtle jut of his lower lip. Boo. “I’m sure you can dance, though. You have… the body for it.”
Keith grins, the complement going straight to his ego, fueling the flames of his arousal. “I love to dance,” He says, hand returning to Shiro’s thigh. “Would you like a demonstration?” He half-whispers, violet eyes hungry on Shiro.
He raises the glass to his lips again – Keith thinks he’s doing it on purpose now. His gaze lingers on the pale column of Keith’s neck, dusky brow vaulted. “What do you mean?” Keith hums, eyes flickering down to the very enticing warmth of Shiro’s lap.

“Why are you doing this? You’re being incredibly selfish. None of us have been able to get a decent meal since you showed up. Where’s your mentor?”
Keith blinks, licking his lips, tasting the iron of blood. “I –” She gazes at him inquisitively, brushing a strand of white hair past her shoulder. “What do you mean?”
There’s a long silence, and Keith is trapped in her blue gaze. “You don’t –” She gives another sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Of course. Of course!” She waves her hand around in exasperation, “Just perfect,” She walks past Keith, and he follows her, watching as she examines the mother covered in black boils. “You do know that you’re wiping out half of Europe, right? They’re calling it the black death. They think God is angry with them and is reaping his vengeance.”

Keith was hungry.
Even after going two rounds, there’s still a fire in his belly, a tightness in his throat. He wriggles around a bit, trying to catch the gaze of his meal – Shiro only mumbles something under his breath and continues to finance. How boring. Keith rolls his violet eyes, stretching his arms to the headboard, elongating his spine in the delicious curve he knows Shiro likes. Keith’s black tail lashes languidly in the air, back and forth like a cat toy, trying to grab Shiro’s attention.
“Keith,” He says, without looking up from those damned papers. Keith grins, wiggling his hips. “You just ate.”

Keith, against all of his wishes, finds himself to be a barista at his older brother's coffee shop. It helps that the cafe is only a ten minute journey on foot from his humble apartment. Keith has memorized the perfect path to get back home as quickly as possible. It's a left, and a right, a quick jog through a fenced yard, and then—it's the unnerving scream ringing out through the early morning air and causing him to trip over his feet.
The routine is compromised in an instant and suddenly it's the creep of shadows peeking out from a too-narrow alley, the shiver that wracks his frame as he pokes his nose into places where it shouldn't be, and finally it's the creeping realization that he'll never be the same person he was when he stepped into the darkness. Juggling his college classes, his full-time job, and the obnoxiously endearing boy that had barreled straight into his daily routine this school year was hard enough without these strange... urges, on top of it all.

Keith is a half-demon, half-human trying to survive alongside his roommate, Lance, avoiding demon hunters, the wrath of God, and angry landlords. Keith has been fighting his demonic side for his whole life, trying to be as human as he can. But as he gets closer and closer to a quarter of a century, fighting his urges becomes increasingly harder. The pain is almost unbearable. It doesn't help that an incredibly attractive baker named Shiro happens to help Keith out during one of his lowest moments. Keith isn't sure he'll be able to fight off these urges anymore.
