Ominis Gaunt thinks too much - everyone always tells him, so it must be true. He finds himself constantly thinking in circles, mind whirling around the same familiar themes over and over again until they are as familiar to him as the back of his hand. (that's how the phrase goes, so he has heard.)
Due to this excessive introspection, he knows a few things as fact:
1) He is probably cold-blooded;
2) He does not hate being blind as much as everyone thinks he should; and
3) He hates the new fifth-year even though everyone else loves her.(aka my very self-indulgent Ominis character study mixed with a bit of Pride and Prejudice-esque drama <3)

The child, still clinging to Jin-woo’s side like an affectionate barnacle, turned towards the hidden figure. “Don’t be mean to Papa, Mama.”
Starling froze mid-reach, one foot still on the second rung of the ladder.
