If she had just a drop more motivation in her body, Éponine would have been incensed by the finality with which Combeferre spoke; she was just so done with men telling her how the world works when they themselves have absolutely no clue. But he was a good person who meant nothing by it and, in hindsight, she could concede that he’d been nothing but nice to her all night and it wasn’t his fault that everything was pushing her — bit by bit — closer to the edge.
Yeah, it hadn’t been a great week.
Fuck it. It had been a shit year. The fact that it was only April be damned, she thought to herself as she collapsed back into the sofa with a resigned sigh.

The golden-haired boy is in the courtyard of Shanyi Academy’s lecture hall, practicing a set of moves Grantaire vaguely recognises as the Eighteen Li Water Punches. His movements are as fluid as that of other older Li clan disciples that Grantaire has seen before, but beneath the surface there seems also to be a power more akin to fire than water. The boy is practically glowing as he finishes the set, and the water lilies in the pond at the edge of the courtyard sway from the gust of wind that propels forward from his punch.”
In which Enjolras is a mythical creature, and so are some of the amis, and they seek every day to save other creatures, but Grantaire is mostly just interested in saving Enjolras. Wuxia AU.

Enjolras. A disillusioned child of the 60s, disillusioned beyond belief, staunchly correct all the time, and not easily impressed, is accosted by a strange man outside a bar. A man with riches beyond belief and a terrible attitude who is wrong about everything, and he becomes obsessed. First, with proving him wrong, second, with chastising him for the poor storage of all his historic artifacts, and finally, with proving he killed Jean Prouvaire. It proves to be something close to the death of him.

Summary
Les Amis find themselves in a strange place that resembles an island, where they are confined inside and around a building and its surroundings. People wearing strange clothes present them with the rules they have to follow, with the promise of unpleasant consequences if they do not. Out of fear and curiosity, the puzzled young men obey. During the days and whatever time of the day, Les Amis are told to gather outside of any door their captors dictate, unsure if it ever is the same door. And all they remember at the end of the day is entering the room, and then waking up to bright lights upon them, confined to a chair, after which their captors release them. Gavroche is locked away, the captors take an interest in Courfeyrac, not releasing him after they’re done with him in those rooms, instead carrying him away in an inaccessible room. Enjolras’ frustration grows stronger, he feels responsible for everything he and his friends are going through, and takes it upon himself to rescue them all and escape. Where are they? What is this place? Who’s behind this all? And what does a 20-year-old unsolved murder case have to do with that and them all?

For Grantaire, forever was Enjolras.
To lay beneath an eternal sun, loving and being and breathing together until the the sky turns black with overuse, that was all that Grantaire wanted. That was what Grantaire thought would happen too, until Enjolras passes out while home alone, and then suddenly the future became full of uncertainties, and the ever-growing possibility that Enjolras may not be with him for very long at all.
After all, June is fresh and newly born in the air, but under the bluest of cloudless skies, Grantaire may as well be dying too.
