They’re two grown men, Brutus thinks absently, when he’s curled up beside Caesar in his massive bed. They’re much too old to act like the besotted youth they’re playing at, but when he chances a glance at the sleeping man beside him, Brutus feels his heart skip a beat. With his eyes closed and deep heavy breaths escaping him, Caesar looks almost youthful. The harsh lines of war and time melt away, leaving only high cheekbones and sooty lashes so long they nearly kiss his cheeks. Brutus has never wanted to be a pair of eyelashes so badly in his life.
