The Triwizard Tournament is coming to Scotland again and the wizarding students of Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are buzzing with excitement over the chance to participate in the renowned contest between the three schools. While Gryffindor student Mark Ransom seeks to prove that his friend Will is, in fact, the main character, a young girl who suddenly appeared in the French school without a daemon is willing to try everything to find her family again. And a certain Russian girl, whose name is definitely Tatiana and NOT Lyra, finally has a chance at facing her past and returning into the arms of her long lost lover.
But the defeated dark forces are not amused about their lost power and still lurk in the shadows, always ready to make a great comeback.Title from the song “Bur Man Laimi” by the Latvian group Tautumeitas.

What if Lyra went to Will's world instead of hers?
This fic starts towards the end of The Amber Spyglass (the book)
Just something I'm doing instead of revision - more of a procrastination project :)Just a quick recap in case you haven't recently read HDM so you can properly understand this:
- Will and Lyra discover they have to close all the windows (except for one) to prevent the loss of Dust
-The only window that should be left open is for the ghosts/dead so they can become one with the earth
- Will and Lyra learn that if you spend too long in a world that isn't yours, you will inevitably die in around 10 years
- Lyra can't read the alethiometer anymore
-Earlier in the book, Lyra's mother held her captive (asleep) to "keep her safe"
- Will's mother has mental issues
- This fic starts from when the Gyptians and Serafina collect Lyra, Will and Mary to take them home
- The voyage is about 2 weeks longP.S i didn't know what to call this so radiohead seemed like the easiest option xx

After all their suffering liberating the dead, Will and Lyra are given the most precious gift of all: time. Time to go back home, to adjust back to their worlds, to show their worlds’ to each other, and to figure out what are those new feelings, with daemons that haven’t settled just yet. The dead are turning to Dust, and some time has been gained. Eve doesn’t need to fall just yet, nor to make a devastating decision. Xaphania warns the kids: use the knife as little as possible, best is to just leave one window open, well hidden. As for the rest, there’s time. What are a couple of months, years, or maybe even a lifetime, as Will and Lyra bring in more and more Dust into the world, in comparison to all the ages of the universe?

This story was written for an in-class fanfiction project. It was also the opportunity for me to come to terms with His Dark Materials' traumatizing ending. Please excuse my poor attempt to write in British English as I am not an English native speaker!

This story is based only on the plot and canon from His Dark Materials and Lyra’s Oxford, and will probably not feature any points from the Book of Dust or the television series.
