The First Spinjitzu Master had declared it long ago, when he gave the Elements their names.
So, if a Master of Time were to travel back to the past, their past self would "disappear" as they would've been replaced by their present self.
This was a great commandment.
In theory.
It did not seem to account for twin Masters of Time, one with control over the future, and one with control over the past.
