Matthew feels a wave of goosebumps prickling under his skin from the weight of the boy’s stare, but he doesn’t back down. A mischievous glint in his eyes, Matthew raises an eyebrow and winks. The Durmstrang boy smirks in response, a subtle curve of his lips, before looking away, leaving Matthew feeling both amused and intrigued.
Matthew feels Taerae squeeze his hand, “Strong Durmstrang boy sets his eyes on a cute, petite Beauxbatons boy. How cliché,” he mimics a high-pitched, dramatic voice obnoxious to Matthew’s ears. Matthew lets go of Taerae’s hand with a playful slap to his back, rolling his eyes.
"Maybe this will be fun after all," Matthew murmurs so that only Taerae can hear, a playful grin spreading across his face as they follow behind the other students inside the castle.
