The ideal tool is one that you can use as though it is an extension of your own arm. Whether that is a sword, knife, weapon, or something as humble as a pen, you should be able to use it as though you would use your own hand.
Jason Todd was never spirited away by Talia after being dumped in the Lazarus Pit. Talia was unable to get him away in time, and while Ra's feared what Jason would turn into, he knew he needed to take the opportunity to mold the Lazarus-mad boy into a tool worthy of the League of Assassins. Thankfully, the boy took to the direction like a duck to water, and became exactly the tool that Ra's needed. When Talia took her son—his grandson and carefully crafted heir—Ra's turned to the next best option.

Sheila had let her hair grow out. Greasy blonde strands tumbled down her shoulders and shrouded her face from him. Her skin was pale. She almost looked sickly. Red Hood watched as she reached into her trenchcoat, pulling out a bouquet of red carnations, daffodils, and lilacs. She hung her head as she placed the bouquet on the ground, as gently as you would treat a child.
He could hear her deliberate breaths interrupted by choked hiccups. Tears fell onto the petals. She took in a shaky breath before opening her mouth.
“Have you come here to kill me?”

Jason Todd has spent the bulk of the last seven years imprisoned, insane, dead, or wishing he was. For the first time since he chased Joker into Arkham, his life is standing still. Things are (weirdly) good with Bruce. Roy is amazing. Joker is dead. So, there's no time like the present to upend it all and return to the city that broke him in the first place. Sure, Gotham's an unmapped minefield of his worst triggers, a vicious hellhole with a quick temper and a wicked mean streak, but she's Jason's hellhole. And if he's obscenely, unreasonably lucky, he might come out of it with a home, a family, and a chance to be a hero again.
That's worth the risk. Right?

Harvey smirked, his even gaze grazing over the vigilante's muscled body, leather gripping each inch of Hood’s hips, and the enticing bulge between them emphasised by the way the ropes around the tops of his thighs held him neatly in place.
“You’re hardly in a position to be making demands,” Harvey growled, his scarred half taking the reins. On the average night, he’d be pulling this sort of shit to keep Batman’s eyes off of the real shady shenanigans that were going down, but this punishment was overdue.
Tonight he’d give the Red Hood his full attention.
