Summary
AU. Crossover. F.B.I. Agent Katniss Everdeen isn't exactly Miss Congeniality, but she's damn good at her job. If only the rest of the Bureau could see that, especially her tough-as-nails, by-the-book boss, Deputy Director Boggs, who sees her as nothing more than a screw-up. But when she goes rogue, she's just following her instincts and saving lives, not disobeying orders (not exactly). Katniss's good friend at the Bureau, Agent Peeta Mellark, on the other hand, can do no wrong; he's Boggs' Golden Boy. But she doesn't hold a grudge. If only he'd stop showing her up, and of course, flirting and casually dating right under her nose. No, she's not jealous. So what if she feels funny when he looks at her with that stupid, handsome face and bright blue eyes and smiles at her with that ridiculous boyish grin?
Despite Peeta's obnoxious looks and heroics (and even more obnoxious womanizing), he's always been there for her. But even with Peeta Mellark as her friend and ally, Katniss feels as though she's hanging by a thread at the Bureau. However, all that changes when she's the last hope to go undercover at the Miss Panem pageant, in order to stop a killer.
But a beauty contest?!
