Legend had been doing this for a long time. The life before now was just a memory. He struggled to recall days spent in the orchard with his uncle at ease. He couldn’t recall the flavor of life not tainted by his curse. He shouldered the weight of his burden without complaint, hid his heart beneath sarcasm, and stumbled words. He’d struggle and claw his way to the next day even when he couldn’t see the reason.

The Downfall Timeline heroes die but come back to life every time. This leads to complications.

The Chain have finally made it to Korok Forest in Wild's post-Upheaval Hyrule. Only there is something very wrong with the forest, and Time recognizes the evil festering inside the Great Deku Tree for what it is. He must lead his fellow heroes inside the tree, and face the horrors that dwell within.
Maybe this time, Time can save the forest. But memories of younger days burn in his mind, and even with the Fierce Deity Sword in his possession, there's no way they could've known what awaited them.Series

Hyrule and Sky gasped- The two were unfortunate bystanders to this disaster of an argument. It had been getting late and it was a long day for everyone, but without a single word shared, the two knew that it didn’t justify anyone’s actions. And now, they were dangerously close to either getting caught up in the fight, or witnessing a near-serious injury.

He had cursed out in pain as he landed, groaning in agony as he clutched his sword arm. Shit, he had choked out, forcing himself up into a sitting position. Legend shook his head, blinking the dizziness from the portal away, glancing up to see it disappear into nothing.
With gritted teeth he hauled himself up onto his unsteady two feet, body shuddering a bit from the way his tunic quickly soaked. It was wet, cold, and it was coming down hard here, plus none of his brothers seemed to have landed near him. Another curse almost left his lips, until he heard something crackle.
Legend's eyes nearly turned to pinpricks as he felt a pair of predatory eyes on him. An ominous feeling bubbling in his gut, Legend snapped his head around quickly, only to come eye to eye with the icy piercing gaze of a Golden Lynel.

Legend gets chased down by an infected, black-blooded Golden Lynel while injured and is unable to fight against the monster in his wounded state. Is this it for him?

Summary
The newest member of the ragtag group of heroes throughout the ages literally falls from the sky in front of them.
It doesn't take long for them to realize that he's not a fighter like the rest of them, at least not anymore. And that's ignoring the fact that he's a shy nervous wreck who clearly isn't used to being around nine other heroes with questionable social skills.
(AU where Wild is the last to join the Chain and he's not a swordsman like everyone else, but is instead a sorcerer because his chronic pain meant he couldn't fight with an actual sword anymore. He's got a lot of healing to go through with that, and the Chain will help him because he's one of them, even if a sorcerer Link wasn't what they were expecting.)
