Summary
Pumpkins, Donnie thought solemnly, why on earth are we looking for pumpkins in December? He directs a curious glance towards his younger brother, Mikey— the younger teen is humming to himself cheerfully, unaware of the look Donnie was shooting him. Asking the question out loud though, does gain his attention.
Mikey smiles, shrugging his shoulders, "Because it's festive—" he skips over a crack on the pavement,"—and it's Raph and Leo's favorite!"
He shoots his brother an unimpressed glare, which was responded to with an almost anxious look, "C'mon Donnie," Mikey whined, "It'll be fun—Just the two of us!"
He was ready to turn back around, the cold was biting at his face, and he missed the warmth of his lab. But, against everything his mind was telling him to do, he couldn't just abandon Mikey to do this alone. How hard would it be to find some stupid pumpkins anyways? Just the two of us, huh?

It takes place after my 'Pre-Multiverse' series, so I would suggest reading those stories first for context. This story was also inspired by elements of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Turtles Forever. Summary
Rewatched “The Next Mutation” and, in hindsight, it’s a decent mix of the 1987 cartoon and 90s live-action movies. Well, minus the weird sound effects. But perhaps I was just a kid expecting movie quality from a children’s show… Anyway, it was much funnier than I recalled.
I always remembered the part in the park where Leonardo explained to Venus that ‘random pet shop turtles’ meant they were biologically unrelated because, even as a kid, I thought everyone knew that. But I had forgotten about the part where Michelangelo exclaimed to the others that Leonardo and Raphael were two sides of the same coin.

Evangeline Blackwell, or Evie as she preferred to be called, always knew that New York City held an abundance of secrets which she was itching to uncover, hence why she decided to move there for college. However, she didn’t consider that one of the cities' secrets was the existence of a particular blue clad mutant turtle and his crime fighting brothers.
Evie thought her biggest obstacle in her first year of college was going to be getting good grades, making new friends and getting used to dorm life. But alas, she now has to worry about a new crime organisation called ‘The Foot Clan’ working under The Shredder, the arch nemesis of the turtle and his family who she was beginning to grow very attached to.
However, after too many close calls, Splinter soon realises that perhaps the turtles were not as strong as a team as he believed them to be, and thus Leo was not experienced enough to lead them.
So what better fix is there than a year long trip to South America?
