“Fuck me for trying!” Eddie groans, taking a long angry inhale of smoke, coughing slightly as he says, “I just think we owe it to the others to fucking try to get along. You know, get in the fucking holiday spirit.”
Richie kicks his foot against the railing of the porch, looking very uncomfortable and tense, “Suppose so.” He sighs, and then, “I can get along with you just fine. I don’t need a fucking heart to heart. I’m civil and over it.”

Arms laden with candy, Eddie takes the stairs two at a time, balancing his precious cargo. He elbows the bedroom door out of his way and starts to say, "We don't even have 3 Musketeers, you picky asshole," but the words fizzle and die on his lips when he enters his room.
Richie is sitting cross-legged with his back against the headboard, nodding his head distractedly to the beat of the music. His glasses are pushed up on the top of his head, and his long, pale fingers are spinning Eddie's vibrator like it's a twirling baton.

Summary
Richie remembers, but not everything.
He remembers that Stanley Uris was the best, that they went on Indiana Jones missions in the rain, drank coffee with too much milk and sugar, had sleepovers and talked late at night. He also remembers the bittersweet feeling of loving, wanting to be loved and how complicated things could get when the butterflies flutter at the wrong time, when thinking about the wrong person, of the wrong gender. Richie remembers his friends and the world they created, a separate world that's in Derry, but not quite Derry at all. Spring cleaning the clubhouse, the high school graduation, getting kicked out of class. Teasing, laughing, crying. The frustration of wanting more, of wanting less.
He's now 44 years old and finally makes the journey back to reunite with everything he left behind - with everyone he left behind. Unfortunately, he does not remember that two of his favorite people won't be able to meet him there. But then again - nobody who dies in Derry ever really dies, right?

Eddie confronts Richie at the inn wanting to know if Richie remembers the short romance they shared at 14-years-old. Richie remembers, but has so much he wishes he could forget again. Through flashbacks we learn how they got together and the horrible events that drove them apart. Will they get a second chance at happiness? Or will Richie have to find a way to move on from his trauma alone? You decide in this incredibly angsty choose your own ending story. The sweet childhood romance, heartbreaking trauma, sad regretful adults, and reconciliation stays the same, but you get to decide if Eddie dies in the sewers or lives.
