Tommy wanted to be able to live again before he died.
He wanted to make it out of this room, out of this lab, out of this town. He wanted to go back to school, as crazy as that might sound. He wanted to make friends to go out and do stupid things with, like a proper teenager. Tommy wanted to get fostered by a nice family, one that cared, and one that wanted him. He wanted to know what it was like to live a nice, normal, and secure life.
Tommy didn’t want his last moments alive to be like this. But it seemed, he didn’t have a choice.
Just as hands- that he could barely see- began to reach for one of the vines pinning his wrist to the wall, Tommy felt heaviness and harsh pressure consume him. And then, darkness covered his vision.
It was a shame, to die so close to safety.

Tommy is infected with a rare disease, causing flowers to bloom from his skin. He’s locked in a room in a lab for years, isolated and alone, until he’s found by a family of witches.

It was… off putting to hear his own, familiar language again, as obvious as it was that it was a foreign speaker. He'd been so alone, for so long. He had been fine that entire time, sure, but it was almost nice to hear it. “It's quite rude to stab someone.”

It starts the way it always seems to: Niki, alone, aflame.
The city hums around her as she opens her mind to it: the constant gentle murmur of a million conversations, the scents of spring and exhaust and a city’s worth of restaurants in all their clashing shades, the cool air against her skin. The fire in her is low-burning and scornful, not doing her bidding so much as variously her hope and her fury. Niki is bound by her oath. She has been angry for so long that it is hard to remember what to do next, the ways of it, her duty. Still, she is what she is.
Niki always does her duty. Nihachu or not.
Niki returns to fighting yao under the blessing of a new power. Techno and Phil refuse to let her do it alone.

Either Techno was a weird stalker or Tommy had gone clinically insane. At least, in Tommy’s mind those were the only two logical explanations for whatever was currently happening.
“So uh… any questions?” Techno continued, finally noticing how awkward the atmosphere had become. “Do you need me to repeat that? It’s okay if you need me to, I don’t mind.”
It was quiet afterward. The only noise was the birds chirping in the forest and the occasional breeze blowing through the trees.
Tommy opened his mouth to respond, but all that came out was; “Am I clinically insane? Or are you?”
Techno sighed, his eyes pinched shut for a moment before he opened them again. “This is probably why Phil wanted to come with me.” He whispered, barely loud enough for Tommy to hear.

It's not like Phil hadn't considered getting a familiar before. It might be quite beneficial actually. It would provide him more access to higher magic and all of the cool benefits.
Unfortunately, he'd also considered what it would be like to have two fight-hungry beings, and having one of them be a demon was much unneeded.
He hoped to facilitate their meeting and supervise it. That hadn't exactly gone to plan. The old crow needed a nap.

“I screwed up,” Wilbur whispers. Techno looks at Wilbur’s wand and his heart sinks.
A wand could withstand a lot of things, and it was unheard of to need to replace it.
Unless the wielder did something so taxing that the wand shattered underneath the weight of the magic.
The wand in question was splintered into so many pieces, some protruding from Wilbur’s hands, most in the work bench.
“Where’s my wand, Wilbur.” It wasn’t a question.

Wilbur knew that Techno was hiding something in the local apothecary. He didn’t know what it was, but he knew that it probably wasn’t something he needed to worry about.
Techno sold medicinal herbs and other homemade remedies at the Craft apothecary. Philza was gone a lot and so Techno was left in charge most of the time, or that was what Techno had said Philza’s excuse had been.
“This time of night? Techno you’re overworking yourself, you shouldn’t let yourself work so hard!” Wilbur complains as Techno packs up his things to go to the shop. “Turn your phone off!”
“I can’t, Wil, I’m helpin’ people, something you don’t understand about,” Techno hisses as he heads out the door.
Wilbur sits heavily on the couch.

Propelling himself with his lightning magic, Tommy leaped through the air, preparing a massive attack meant to electrocute this fucker to kingdom come. It’s what he deserved after he dared to poison Technoblade.
Tommy hadn’t been there-- he’d been out on a job-- but Philza had seen it all the same. The two of them had also been out on a job to wipe out a dark guild when all of a sudden this motherfucker showed up to fight them.
According to Phil, he had been hired by the dark guild to protect them, and that was when he poisoned Technoblade. It was smart, Tommy would give him that. Taking on one of them the chances were iffy, but both Techno and Phil together? It was like begging for death.
Now Tommy had to go ahead and fight Wilbur, and it wasn’t looking so hot for him.
