I'm a sucker for combining routes in visual novels, and LADS doesn't do much to address when and whether different love interests' events take place along the main, presumably integrated story. Add my tendency toward "I can make this work"–style masochism into the mix, and you have this attempt at forcing canon to get along with itself.

That, combined with the fact that his true personality is closer to the one she grew up with than it is to his Colonel mask, is more than enough to win a part of her heart. And, if she can prove to Caleb that living in the present can be just as rewarding as reminiscing about their past, then she can give that part to him with no reservations.

I can feel Sylus's eyes burning into us, and that's barely an exaggeration. I'd be lying if I said I'm not a betting woman, because I am, but I don't need to bet on whether he's playing us right now. I can say with 100 percent certainty that Sylus is watching me and Rafayel closely, letting the two of us set the tone for tonight so that he'll know how best to match it later. But revealing my suspicions won't be any fun, and Rafayel might throw me out of my depth on purpose if he knew, so I just smile and put my arms around him.
Lyra knows more or less what to expect when she accompanies Sylus to the Nest, mixing business and pleasure as usual. Running into another of her boyfriends there is way beyond those expectations.
