In the entrance of their small cave, a vast shadow in the unlit gloom, Zircon lifts her head as First Aid rouses, stricken with an unfamiliar, agitated restlessness that isn't his own.
The hour is earlier than their usual waking, only the thinnest, most watery light penetrating the darkness. The linens below him are body-warm, but the air outside his bedding has a distinct chill to it that speaks of a winter soon to come.
First Aid doesn't quite fit in with the other dragonriders. As a Healer, his skills are more useful on the ground, even after Impressing his green dragon, but he can't hide from the inevitable.

Mùjūn—his massive, grizzled Bronze—has lifted his head from where it had been resting against sun-warmed stone, nostrils twitching like a hound catching a scent.
He does not speak.

“Uh, Qui-Gon. Do you, um, normally . . .?”
“Meet people and put my hand down their trousers?” Obi-Wan’s smirk grows. “If they are the kind to enjoy it. First mating flight?”
Qui-Gon blinks rapidly. Now that he has a moment of clarity, Obi-Wan’s words actually mean something. He remembers, distantly, the lectures on mating flights: when the gold queen dragon rises in the air and the males compete to catch her, kicking off a frenzy of lust and mating. The lecture had come with a warning that many in the weyr would fall prey to projected frenzy. At the time, Qui-Gon had dismissed it on account of his advanced age.
Now with the benefit of hindsight, he thinks he maybe should have paid a bit more attention.

A'tem of Ingen Weyr found them washed up on an abandoned stretch of coast and brought them back to recover, but Seto and his dragon aren't talking to anyone, Yu'gi has a head injury, and Yami is just certain everything will be fine once everyone starts talking.
Can the time traveling riders convince the Weyrs of the past to leave everything behind and help them? And what happens to both past and future Perns if they do?
Picks up immediately after Dragonfate, and won't make much sense without the first installment.
