But I am here, now,”, he slowly raises his eyes to meet her gaze, her eyes like a black-storm looming over his kingdom as she listens. “I feel I can raise her myself well enough.”
Athena doesn’t look away from him, but she takes a moment to reply, something he can’t imagine himself getting used to after all those years of her swift counsel, of her sharp words, always in his ear, always in some corner of his mind.
