But Marie has to constantly keep herself in check. The mental scars of her past remain, often forced to confront her fears and her alter ego as she bares the weight of her own actions, struggling to remain in control of herself.
Follow Marie Payne as she tries her very hardest to prevent herself from falling into a downward spiral as a sinister foe is pulling the strings. Can she overcome the demons of her past, or will she succumb to her own insanity?

Summary
What if there was a ninth Smiling Critter? What if she had a special ability that not even Playtime Co knows about? What if she fell in love with a sunny spinal and sleepy feline?
Stella Star, a female peacock who looks like a male peacock, was introduced to the Playcare 5 years after the others were made and 5 years before the Hour of Joy. She is an excellent singer and dancer. She uses her voice to sing the orphans to sleep. At first, she would only show kindness to the kids and never with the other Critters unless it was in front of the kids. Soon she started to hang out with Dogday and Catnap. This soon blooms into more than just friendship.
During the Hour of Joy, Catnap betrays them, Dogday is captured by Catnap, the other critters disappear, and Stella is believed dead (or is she?) A mysterious figure is roaming Playcare and Catnap has started to notice the disappearance of quite a few Minis.
10 years later the Player enters the factory. After defeating Huggy and Mommy and surviving the train crash, they enter Playcare but are watched by more than a hungry cat.

Matthew Wayson works as a counselor for Playtime Co., helping to maintain a happy image for the children who live in their private orphanage, Playcare. He's always had his gripes about their condition, lobbying various times for more practical conditions for the kids, but his attempts were always shot down. Flash forward to August 8th, 1995, a normal workday for Matthew... until disaster strikes personally.
Saved from the horrific events of the Hour of Joy by the hands of a smiling toy, Matthew now finds himself living through a living nightmare, trying to escape the overrun facility before it claims his life. Will he make it out before death comes knocking at his door? Or will he be destined to a concealed fate, locked behind closed doors and corporate coverups?
