(“This will sting,” Mira warned, tipping the brown bottle to a fresh pad.
The antiseptic hit, and Rumi’s body jolted upright from the fiery sting, a sharp hiss cut the space, as Rumi breathed in through gritted teeth.
“Ah…fuck..! ow…” Her head knocked the wall lightly. “Hot.”
“I know.” Mira braced her wrist gently. “It’s the worst part. You’re doing well.”)
There was an off-campus warehouse party. Glitter in the cups, bass like a heartbeat, everybody swaying in time; then the city woke up wrong.
“Please stand by,” said the TV, and then it never stood again.
Outside, something knocks back; three taps, long pause, then a fourth tap that asks a question. There is a listening stillness where breath should be.
This isn’t your average Zombie Story.
It’s three girls deciding how to keep each other soft without getting killed, how to be brave without being loud, and what to do when the world starts moving like a puppet on a string.

Returning to her chair, she poured herself a glass of whiskey. Celine raised it in the air, waiting for someone else to meet her.No one did.
“Happy birthday, Mi-yeong,” she said before taking a sip. “I miss you.” Celine stared at the whiskey, alcohol mixing with the melting ice cube to make a strange illusion in her glass. She sighed, finishing the rest of her drink in two sips.
Celine groaned as she poured herself another glass.

"Where's Rumi?" Celine's voice is like thin ice, frigid and barely a second away from cracking, pulling all of them in the abyss below. Mira feels the shards already digging into her lungs as the older woman pops her head into the charred limousine, frantically searching for a mop of purple hair. "Mira! Answer me!" She doesn't, but the distant sizzling of hellfire over the horizon is response enough.
Ruy Rumi was a liar, and the lilac lines staining her skin proved it. Zoey and Mira were stuck paying the price, over and over again. Demons existed to be hunted. Being forced to live with the searing pain was the only thing they ever had in common.

The girl approached Mira. She sat on the edge next to Mira. “I’m assuming you’re finding this party as dreadful as I am.”
Mira let out a little chuckle. “You could say that.” She took another sip of champagne before offering it to the new girl. “I’m Mira. Champagne?”
