Come on board with Thomas and his friends! Sir Topham Hatt is taking a holiday by the seaside with his family and Mr. Conductor, a little man who lives in his little house painted on a place unlike any other, Shining Time Station, is coming over keep the engines really busy on the Island of Sodor. Thomas the Tank Engine is going to go on a grand adventure with his busy jobs around North Western Railway, but things get much more dangerous when an evil diesel engine named Diesel 10 makes his return to the island to complete his "unfinished business." Thomas knows that Diesel 10 was extremely brutal back in the day and that he is up to no good again. With new friends along the way to arrive on Sodor for his grand adventure, will Thomas stop the evil Diesel 10 and his cronies from completing their plans in taking over the railway, and eventually, the whole Island of Sodor? Rated G for everyone.

In the credits of the movie, someone is credited as "Adult Patch" and there is speculation that the family heading down the hill in the final scene is Patch and Lily's family. This naturally begs the question: How did they get from where they were in Magic Railroad to having kids and, according to the original scripts anyways, Lily telling the story of Magic Railroad to their children. What follows is my attempt to tell that story.
