Summary

Venti blinks, and laughs, head dropping forward. “I… I’m not even sure. I guess there’s just something about being in this church that makes me want to… confess.”
Her pink brows furrow. “Confess to what?”
He sighs, soft and slow. “…I don’t even know.”
She leans back on the bench, propping her palms on the edge behind her and letting her head fall back. She stares beyond the tall organ pipes, up at the ornate ceiling of the grandiose cathedral. “…Venti?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you think this is how he wanted things to be?”
His breath grows shallow. “…Who?”
“Barbatos.”
“I… can’t say I know much about what he wanted.” He stares at his hands.

Technoblade picked up the phone without pause, a motion he repeated more than eight or nine times an hour. He wouldn't say he disliked getting calls, it was a break from his grading, but he wasn't the fondest of talking to confused students.
Techno recited his little speech into the receiver, telling the caller that they'd reached his professor's office and that they were speaking to a TA.
Through the phone, where Techno normally expected to be told of an issue, there was shuffling. A curt clack and the ring of a bell in the distance.
After a few moments of silence, Techno went to speak, but closed his mouth as music started to play through the phone. It was strange and uneven, shaky piano notes that sounded live, and it was no melody he had ever heard before. It was nothing more than six notes and a panicked breath before the phone began to hum as the line was cut off.
Techno pulled the phone away from his ear.

Tony sighed, slumping down for a moment as if drained and then started a new song, a short one, but no less emotionally wrenching on the haunting piano. Every note felt heavy with a sorrow even though it was a simple melody, cold and lonely. The last notes ended, and Tony slumped again, breathing deeply for a few moments. The Avengers made to leave, seeing this is a private moment not to be disturbed, but Tony stopped them.
"You can come in, if you'd like." Tony's voice was soft but still reverberated in the music room, eventually escaping from the live room through the open doorway.
