Summary
I’ve been catching heat up North lately. Eli keeps saying I should go take a break down in the valley or on the river. I’ve eliminated one threat at least - it wouldn’t hurt to bask in the glory of a liberated region. After this last mission at the F.A.N.G. Center, I could use something to cool me the fuck off. Jacob has fucked with me plenty for now.

I woke up several days later, covered in blood and gravel-filled wounds. Pratt tried to save me but I think we both knew as he pushed me off the balcony that he’d pay for my sins. If anyone is to pay for my mistakes, I know it has to be me. John is right - I AM the WRATH of Hope County.

Callista had pulled a flask from the inside of her denim jacket and just before bringing it to her lips, a firm grip wrapped around her wrist. It startled her. Her wide eyes clashed with blue and an involuntary shiver wracked her body. The man before her was tall and burly. His ginger hair was slicked back on the top and shaved off the sides, military style. Burn scars covered portions of his face, except for the lower half, where a beard resided. He was wearing an army jacket, a beige shirt underneath, jeans, and boots. His jacket had a name patch on the right side: "J. Seed." He was wearing dog tags around his neck, alongside a rabbit's foot.
Without missing a beat, his opposite hand collected the flask and he pulled it back on his lips. Callista watched in fascination as his Adam's apple bobbed with every gulp. He released a sigh, pounded a fist against his chest, and nodded his head.
"Not bad." His low and husky voice made Callista's lips part.

It's a memory that had plagued her life for years, and was the reason she joined the very same police force that had rescued her. She promised herself that she could never, ever, be involved in them again.
But one day, Chava finds a concerning voicemail in her inbox from the only friend she's had for years. He's fallen victim to the Eden's Gate cult in Montana. And, reaching out, she finds that no one has heard from him since.
It weighs on her, knowing the experience he must be going through, and she can't bear it anymore. She needs to be the one who rescues him, needs to be the one who helps save the people from the same trauma she had to go through. So, with trembling hands, she boards a helicopter to Hope County.

**It's probably obvious from the fact that I haven't updated in 2 years, but I am not currently updating this series, maybe someday in the future, but I hit some serious writer's block with this one**
After an abandoned attempt at arresting local cult leader Joseph Seed three years prior, Hope County’s newest Junior Deputy has been tasked with seeing the job through once and for all.
Mayhem ensues, not just for the Deputy, but for several others who have found themselves in this remote part of Montana.
When a fairly recent resident from California meets a familiar face he thought he left behind, Kyrati royal family affairs intertwine with Seed business ventures, and travelers from an isolated Caribbean island seeking adventure are sent on a mission, things get... messy. -

Poor girl had to hide her snotty dress while playing the role of the poet during the entire recital. But from what Mary-May said, Peggy sounded far more like a group of people more than any 5th grader running around a stage with a snot-covered dress.
