A week of rain means a week mostly indoors unless you have any decent clothes for the weather or a craving to get splatted. Usually, this would mean a week off from work for most folk who don't do well in water. Captain Triple wouldn't mind a week off. A week in the bed or on the couch of the room they were staying in inside Splatsville. A week alone like most others besides the sparse missions with the new Agent 3 or the shared moments with strangers in the shops and trains that they tried so hard to avoid. NOTE: THIS FIC HAS BEEN ABANDONED due to it originally being posted on Amino, which has become unusable. It's no longer practical for me to transfer the chapters over, and besides, I want to revise a lot of the plot points in this fic, so it makes more sense to start over.
Hopefully, I'll start work on the new version soon. I still want to work in this universe, but this first draft is just not working out.
Born as an Octotrooper and raised as simple cannon fodder, its only goal in life was to die fighting Squidbeak – but when Callie was hypnotized, it suddenly found a passion, and a reason to keep on living. Four years later, the Girl from Inkopolis may be gone from the Octarian lands, but Tanjun hasn't forgotten.
But it's not easy being different in the Octarian Domes. When Tanjun's superiors find proof of its secret obsession, its life is turned upside down yet again. It's only by luck that it escapes at all, but now, it has to leave behind the only world it's ever known and find a new life on the surface.
After a chance encounter with a certain someone from its past, it may get just that.

Summary
Shortly after moving to Splatsville, Eight and Three are finally relaxing and enjoying their time as a couple. Neo Three has defeated Mr. Grizz and things seem calm. Of course, reality would say otherwise. Their peace is interrupted by the Anarchy Splatcast reporting on a mysterious green octoling that was found near Mahi-Mahi Resort; the footage shows it acting in a violent and unusual way. Cephalopods are advised to stay away from the hotel that has had to stop its activities. As a blurry picture and video from the incident are released, both agents realize that it cannot be anything but a sanitized octoling. Despite both hating the idea, they decide that it is time to return to the Deepsea Metro, the source of many of their traumas and night terrors. Since the Squid Sisters are busy with Alterna clean up, Cuttlefish’s recovery, and their singing career, the pair must resort to the only two others with expertise on the Metro, Off the Hook.
