Summary
Varric can’t see past his love for the people he cares about enough to realize that what he really needs to do is leave them in the dust where they belong, because they’ll never meet the expectations he has for them to be decent, or just good enough. People that will only fail him again, and again. People like Solas. People like Rook.
Not this time.

Summary
During the “Blood of Arlathan” mission, Elgar'nan correctly identifies Rook as Fen’Harel’s proxy and traps them alone in the spell maze. The Sun-Tamer and the Dread Wolf of lore have a long and intimate history of violence to work out and if Rook is caught, screaming, in the middle of it? Well, the indifference of gods makes sense of the devil.
Edit: Due to earnest request by very sad readers, a comfort chapter has been added to this very mean story. Thanks yall. <3

Summary
The taste of coffee has never appealed to Rook, but maybe opinions change as they grow closer to a certain coffee addicted Crow.
Working through some major plot points of the game, Rook and Lucanis' relationship develops. The burn is still slow but the relationship starts up much earlier. Some extra scenes, extra kisses, a little bit of extra angst.

Summary
“Dorian Pavus, at your service,” his bow may have missed the little flourish he was so fond of, but Dorian thought in these circumstances it may be excused. Good manners were all he had left, with his hopes and dreams gone up in flames right in front of his eyes just before he’d been transported here – and he would cling to this last shred of dignity he had left with everything he’d got to his name. And find out where he had landed.
The elf chuckled and stood up. “Esher Ingellvar, at your service. Especially when you also want to get out of this fucking place.”Aka
Rook falls through time just as Dorian suffers from Alexius' ritual. They both land in the worst universe to be stranded in. After they undo the ritual, Rook is stranded in Dorian’s timeline. With no place to turn to, he follows Dorian to Haven and later Skyhold. As a magical research assistant, Rook slowly falls in love with the charismatic Tevinter mage. What Rook doesn’t know is that more than one person is interested in his mysterious past in Skyhold, and not just for benign reasons.

Summary
“I’m… Maker, there is no easy way to say this. I’m Divine Aequitas II.”
Oh. Oh no.
“You’re… w-what?” Tarquin stammers out.
“I’m Divine Aequitas II, and someone just wrote a story about a man who is The Divine during the day and a vigilante hero at night. Sound familiar?”
He’s tongue-tied. A million thoughts run through his head at once, all arriving at Maker, I’ve been a bloody idiot. I let it go way too far.
“Listen, Tarquin. I— We think someone’s threatening me. It’s all too suspiciously close to reality. They’ve written about an organization called the Star Snakes, about a hero called The Scorpion. The names are changed, but that hardly matters when it gets so many details right. Dorian said there’s… There’s someone like you, too.”
OR: Because Tarquin is Tarquin, he gets himself in massive trouble by accidentally guessing what Ashur’s secret identity is, and writing a serial about it.

Summary
“The more you do that,” says Davrin, dryly, “the easier it is to dislocate. You know that right?”
“That’s an ‘old Rook’ problem,” says Rook, grinning up at him.
The joke is, of course, that there will never be an ‘old Rook’. As there will never be an ‘old Davrin’. There is, of course, only here and now and whatever’s necessary to make the most of it. So, in that spirit, Rook grabs Davrin at the waist, sets one foot flat against the ground, then bucks their hips to mount-break and reverse their positions.
AKA: Davrin and a very restless Grey Warden Rook do some Warden-approved fraternization to make the nightmares settle down. It's casual. Totally.
