Summary
(This is a fanfiction based on the LEGO show, Ninjago– but is taking place in the LEGO Ninjago movie. This is also an AU which involves some angst and vulgar language. I am also trying my best to interpret these characters canonly, and along with MY head canons! (Race, Sexuality, Bonds, ECT.) Lloyd is starting high school in this AU (A FRESHMEN), meanwhile his friends are juniors/seniors. I hope you enjoy it!)
P.S: I'm VERY much not even finished with writing this piece, I will be adding chapters every once in a while, so make sure to be updated if you enjoy my AU :) !

Summary
And kai left. He always knew that if he left they would be fine, they'd made it quite clear. Having been pushed far enough, having finally had enough, he started his journey back to his village, leaving his sister and brothers behind. Said brothers and sister had to re work their lives with the absence of their brother, it finally hit them, that Kai was an important part of their lives and that he did so much for them.

Nya’s ear is pressed against her brother’s chest, one of his hands holding her by her shoulder, the other covering her exposed ear. Even so, she can hear someone screaming down the hall.
They’ve been captured, locked in this cell for over two days now. At the very least, Nya thinks, they got her and Kai together. She couldn’t imagine being trapped here alone.
Kai has been doing everything within his power to protect her so far, picking fights and throwing himself at anyone who comes near. He’s trying to gain their favor, but not in a good way.
They haven’t been tortured yet, but they both know it’s coming.

He drags Jay into his arms, since he’s the youngest after Lloyd, and starts running. Zane and Cole can’t keep up, but he trusts them enough to leave them a few paces behind. This new child could be in trouble.
He finds, a few seconds later, the source of the sound. A little girl, covered in dust and ratty clothes, clutching a piece of cloth that may be a blanket, sits in the middle of a small dip in the street. She’s wailing, tears making tracks down her face, cutting through the dust. Her hair is black, and her eyes are wide and brown.

She could get out, if she wanted to, but she can’t bring herself to do it. Not while her brother lays on the ground in front of her, his arm up, face scrunched in concentration and agony, bending the flames as far away from her as he can.

His sister, Nya, has lengthy black hair, also with brown eyes. She’s pretty, he thinks. She’s not as thin as her brother, but still a bit too thin. Jay, the shortest of his household, is pleased to see she is not as tall as him. Her skin is unmarred, and though she looks nervous, she’s smiling politely.
“Hello,” Jay greets, excitedly. He has two brothers, Zane and Cole, but he’s excited to have two more siblings, even if it’s temporary.
