Summary
For centuries, Centopia's been at war with Panthea and her Muncs, a vicious battle of elements and weapons and corpses. In the past few decades, though, it's died down. Panthea hasn't made any moves to attack, and the island has reclaimed most of what was taken from it. The people of Centopia are safe, and so are their unicorn riders.
But what happens when 5 first years from their training school discover that Panthea isn't as inactive as they thought she was?

Mia’s bracelet glowed impossibly brighter. Beckoning her. Closing the book, she brushed her fingers lightly over the gemstone, like it might shatter if she weren’t careful.
Responding to her touch, Mia nearly bit her tongue when the sapphire burned. “Crap!” Mia hissed, flinching away. Her eyes found the small paper with the confusing three words, the ones that seemed to be trying to remind her of her own name. Mia squinted, looking from the paper to the bracelet. They had to be related, right? Why else would her bracelet suddenly be glowing when she got this new book.
Cautiously, she lifted the small paper, flicking her brown eyes to the bracelet, to the paper, then back to the bracelet again. Licking her lips, she felt her cheeks warm. She felt dumb. This was dumb. But even still, she opened her mouth and said into the dark room:
“I am Mia.”
