He still kept hoping that one day this would all end. They would stop the punishments, and just love them. That day hasn’t come yet, and the little bit of hope he still had left is slowly dying out. The feeling he has about his parents are quite complicated. He hates them obviously, for what they did to him, but most importantly for what they did to Sirius. But there is still a part of him that loves them, he thinks he might just be holding onto the idea of them being good parents and loving them. He mourns them too, he mourns the parents they could have been, the childhood he and Sirius could have had if their parents loved them.
