And it was a slippery slope from there, 20 minutes of making out on the couch. It was a long time, and yet Adrian was flourishing. Chris' hands being on only him for once, not having to split his attention between Chris and some other person. Just Chris, which lead to the hallway, which lead to the bedroom, which led to clothes on the floor, a creaking mattress, and a really long night which just made Adrian so happy. He was pretty sure it was happiness anyway, the way he was smiling the next morning. It was like the sun was brighter, people were cooler, he had the urge to skip. That had to be what people called joy. Adrian could have died then and there in a brutal bus accident that took the lives of no one but his and he would still feel that same urge to grin and have no regrets. Well, maybe a few.
And it didn't stop. Every time Chris said it was the last time, and Adrian would agree to it, Chris would be the one to move first, kissing Adrian in random ways, in hidden places only they would see. They swore it would stop, and it just didn't.

Well, obviously. Adrian always wishes he was the one who got to kill every bad guy. Like, when he found out Osama bin Laden was dead, he was kind of disappointed.
But this is a different thing. Adrian got to kill plenty of other Nazis that day—more than Peacemaker, actually, he’d like to point out—so it’s not really about missing out. It’s more like, he wishes he just got it together and murdered Chris’s dad in that prison. Or maybe a long, long time ago. Then maybe Chris wouldn’t be acting like this.
