Aragorn has spent most of his life as a ranger, and even when he is told about his destiny - he spends a lot of his life running from that as well, even if he won't admit it to himself. With the quest, and all that is happening, even with just the presence of Boromir, he is going to have to confront his destiny at one point or another. But to put it simply, Aragorn is scared of it - of embracing it. Of becoming king, and if he's worthy.

In TA 1050, Sauron settles in Mirkwood and the tower of Dol Guldur. The woods are beautiful, and well protected from any evil force that would dare walk into them. Spiders are killed, and constantly driven back. But there is an enemy that elves cannot kill, but that can kill their home - and it is fire. The necromancer is not above burning all of Mirkwood to the ground.
Or~ What if Sauron attacked Mirkwood before the Lord of the Rings took place? Legolas's feeling of it, and coming to terms with the burning of his home.

At the end of your speech, it honestly sounded more like a question than a statement, and Legolas let out a soft laugh accordingly.
“It is ok, I think the stars are very beautiful too,” He looked up, then back down at you, hesitating for a second, “They are pretty, meleth nîn.”
You and Legolas should really be together already, but neither of you will admit it, and neither of you will confess. Until someone does. But, as an elf, you really should know Elvish. Miscommunication/misunderstandings occur, but everything work out in the end.
