In the midst of Justin Moorland struggling to come to terms with the fact that he's the grandson of the evil Mr. Sands, CEO of Dark Core, he is arrested by the Keepers of Aideen. Ydris, a local magician, had made a non-verbal promise to Thomas Moorland, Justin’s father, to keep Justin safe — which he promptly fails to do, watching the arrest happen in real time and being unable to do anything about it. Justin never paid any attention to Ydris before, but in captivity Ydris is all he can think abour, and Ydris seems to have taken a sudden interest in him, which he will learn to be grateful for.
Will the Keepers of Aideen’s forcing hand be able to keep Justin and Ydris apart, while Ydris is thrust into adventures pertaining to Pandoria and being Pandorian? Will Ydris be able to both visit the land he once had to flee and come back unscathed? Will he make the choice to stay in Pandoria and, if so, why? For love? Or will love be the one thing keeping him on Jorvik? More importantly, will he ever get to see Justin again? Will Ydris have to be the one to set Justin free?

This is a spur of the moment self-indulgent fic about my fifth soul rider OC, Dusty, and sort of an origin to how he got his pandoric scarring and further down the line his post-pandoric sickness life. Chapters feel like they're gonna be fairly short for the most part, but it may evolve down the line as I get into a more plot-driven swing.
The other soul riders as well as druids and some other residents of Jorvik will appear in further chapters, but for now the fic opens on Dusty and his soul steed, a seal shire named Gigawizard, alone in Pandoria after the Garnok race when Darko unleashes his power after visiting prison island for the first time.

Prologue: “The young Pandoria creature” they call her, the girl who wanders Pandoria. She’s taken the form of a human, she’s a creature of knowledge. It’s dangerous on Jorvik for the girl, she knows this well, but when Katja, one of the Dark Riders, offers her friendship, she accepts, not knowing what she has just sworn herself into. She is a great spy due to her quiet nature, but can her knowledge protect her from the Keepers of Aideen?There seems to be one particularly taken to her company and companionship. She calls him the man of gray. She looks like one of her kind, but she doesn’t trust the man one bit. She doesn’t trust anyone from that side but Anne and Linda, who have formed a somewhat friendship with her, or at least a bit of respect. She knows this could be her downfall, but she trusts the two, even if she shouldn’t. This is the story of the young Pandorian they called “Little Ever”.
