Just as his fingers brushed the cap, he heard a slight tearing sound and a pop. He glanced down to find a button missing right over the curve of his gut. His undershirt peeked through the gap and accentuated just how big he’d gotten.

“I can handle it,” Peter said at long last, his gaze fixed on the buildings that slipped past them as they drove.
“Then handle it,” Mark returned firmly.
Peter turned to look at him, a little surprised by the response. Under normal circumstances, Mark suspected that the agent would have punched him for giving an order like that, but sitting in the semi-darkness of the evening, in a private little bubble, moving through the city, it was harder to keep up his walls. Especially when Mark was on to something.

With his usual Caregiver in the hospital after a run-in with Jigsaw, Peter hasn't been able to reset himself in the way he's used to. Thankfully, Mark knows more than most about caring for a Little, and he knows the signs when he sees them.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, Hoffman?” A spiteful bark reverberated through the streets. Strahm snarled at the man comparatively like a rabid dog, and it was only a matter of time until he would lunge onward and tear him to shreds. Mark, in turn, sheerly blinked—otherwise remaining unmoving, except that he drew back. He brook no intimidation. If it can be considered as such. Perhaps he got it all wrong about the agent. Perhaps he was all bark but would not bite. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
At that, Peter guffawed while bending himself closer to loom just a few inches over the detective. “No? You dragged me out of the precinct to this Italian restaurant."—wined and dined me, he almost proceeded, minus the wine, but managed to bite his tongue by the skin of his teeth. A date would be the appropriate term; however, disregard it as such. Notwithstanding the fact that he reveled in the dinner and the brief moment they connected.

Strahm knew he was weird and he was going to get off his ass and prove it.
The knife he’d been jimmying around the edges of Hoffman’s apartment window jiggled a few more times and Peter prayed that it wouldn’t snap, he’d broken his last good knife not by attempting to break and enter another police officer’s place but by trying to pry a stone out of the sole of his shoe. The tip had broken clean off and the stone had remained lodged firmly in the rivets of the rubber.
It hadn’t been the worst thing to happen that day though. That would have been the biro pen sticking out the front of Strahm’s trachea.

"I'm sorry, I just got carried away last night." It was the honest truth. You'd been too absorbed in grinding on his thigh to consider that the placement of the various hickies you were sucking onto his neck was too high up for him to be able to hide them.
"Just got carried away." Strahm parroted your words in a low, dangerous whisper. He looked away for a moment, blinking like he always did when he was frustrated.
His gaze came back to rest on you.
"If I have to walk around with a collection of fucking hickies the size of a small country on my neck, you have to limp the rest of the week." He spoke slowly, spelling out your punishment with deliberate and weighted words.
It took you a few moments to connect the dots and figure out what Strahm had planned for you.
Oh, you thought, heart sinking and stomach twisting in on itself, he was going to absolutely break you.
