Summary
Techno always thought that he would die in the fighting arena, that he would keep on killing person after person until the day he was finally outclassed. But then Phil entered his life, the winged man showing him that there was so much more than what lay within the walls of his cell and that sandy arena.
Together they escaped, and now Techno and Phil begin settling into their new lives as co-rulers of the Antarctic Empire.
Some days are a struggle, especially after the absolute hell they both recently escaped from. As long as they have each other though, even the worst days aren't all that bad, not when nights turn into mornings spent wrapped up snugly in the warm embrace of the person who means the absolute world to them.

Phil can’t help but wonder exactly what led him to this moment, lying hurt inside a cell, his wings bound tightly behind his back as his own blood coats the floor.
As blow after blow rains down upon Phil by his captor, he’s mocked with harsh words sneered at him, the condescending “Does this hurt? My apologies, Your Highness” and the smug "Oh how the mighty have fallen, Your Majesty."
And there's not even any denying it: King Phil has most definitely fallen.
But in the darkest of times, he finds a light to grasp onto, a friend in the form of the piglin hybrid locked in his cell.
Or a story of friendship between Phil and Techno, in which an ex-king who’s had all his freedom stripped away and a prisoner who’s always been treated like an animal both discover just how nice it is to finally have a friend.

Tommy’s wings stretch out, melting in his abuser’s hands as he’s preened. It’s like his head is stuffed with down feathers, everything blurry when his avian instincts start taking over. Exile fades into a pleasant haze of warmth and gentle hands stroking through his useless wings. Never mind what else those hands have done, lovingly tracing the bruises they made. But it doesn’t hurt when he’s being preened. It means he’s loved. Right?Or, avian Tommy recovering from being groomed, in both senses of the word.

Wilbur was followed.
Wilbur hadn’t realised he was followed, of course he hadn’t in his state. The room got darker, he swore it was his eyes falling shut. Tendrils of shadows wormed under the door, spilt across the floor, and took form. Wilbur stared at the ceiling, still dizzy, still seeing double, still sick. All he could hear was the blood rushing through his ears until he heard another sound.
“Oh god..”
He hadn’t got the mind to think, his brain was soup, he couldn’t breathe. He didn’t have it in him to notice that the ‘voice’ felt disconnected, echoey, invisible, like he was never supposed to hear it at all. He didn’t have it in him to realise that the person above him wasn’t even a person at all.
Or: Wilbur Soot, battling loneliness and mental health issues, gets adopted by cryptids after one (unfortunately) saved his life.

To visit or stay with me.” He pointed behind him, to where he could feel the pinprick of eyes on him. To where he could hear the cries of Ranboo as they couldn’t do anything but listen as Tubbo held him back because they were injured and hurt and it was all Tommy’s fault. The King looked behind him, eyes hardening and talons twitching in annoyance. Tommy couldn’t care less. He was tired of running, tired of watching his friends risk their lives by fighting to stay with him.

It's no surprise when Quackity is finally sent to kill the infamous Blood God. Unfortunately, the man has holed himself up in one of the most secure bases in the world. In the years since it appeared practically overnight in the middle of the tundra, no one's ever managed to make it past the outer walls in one piece.
Fortunately for Quackity, he's got an easy in. It’s all too easy for him to disguise himself as an abused hybrid and he barely even has to beg in the snow before they welcome him in with open arms.
The only problem is, the Antarctic Empire is a lot bigger than he'd first assumed, and even finding the Blood God proves to be one hell of an issue. And, the longer he spends searching for the Blood God, the more he realizes that his roommate--a burly Piglin named Technoblade--might have a point about how society treats hybrids. How his handlers treat him.

Someone had taken their flock, and to a Cryptid, that’s a sentence worse than death.
That was 10 years ago, the land has been cursed since then. Blood constantly stained the stones, always fresh. Crops wilted and died. The sky was tainted a nauseous green with clouds always on the edge of Zues’ fury. Those who stayed there for too long tended to lose their minds.
It was hell on earth. But it’s where this story begins.
