You’d set up weekly Skype calls but there were many times that the boys had to cancel because of extra maintenance on the diner, or issues with a new hire. Even with the calls, it was nothing akin to seeing you face to face.
Nothing like holding you, or having you between them. Or feeling your hands trace their skin, run through their hair. They missed falling asleep with you despite the lack of space on the bed they had in the loft above the breaker box. They had space now, something they’d done unconsciously when they moved into their new apartment. They’d bought a king sized mattress and fit it snug into the corner of the room. When they made the bed in the morning they left a spade sort of like a nest like you used to make when you got into their bed. It soothed the ache a little.

He is loud about the way he loves you and Eddie, even if Eddie's more quiet about it. You see it in the way Volt looks at him across the club while he's announcing the next act. With Eddie it’s different but you feel it no less. The soft smile he gives you when you enter the bar, the hand on your waist when you need to grab something and need the step ladder. This you could argue branches from the last incident where a ladder was involved but it gives you that warm feeling nonetheless.
