    “Is this your plan for all of eternity?” the mystery boy asked, looking almost amused at Jason’s wandering. “Sneaking out of Elysium and haunting your loved ones?”

    Jason turned, refusing to let himself get riled up. Instead, he glanced over at where Thalia began to make a paper airplane and then looked back at his apparent stalker.

    “I didn’t sneak out,” he said. “I have permission from Pluto to leave as I wish. It is my right as a spirit of Elysium.”

    The boy clicked his tongue. “I see,” he said, and looked at Thalia with a sad sort of smile. “And how is that going?” Jason didn’t answer. He didn’t have to. He didn’t know who this was - if it was a god, spirit, or something else entirely. “Do you know who I am?” the stranger asked as if reading his mind.

    Jason ignored him. It was time to go. He wouldn’t enjoy his time with Thalia if he was being harassed for the entirety of it. Could he visit Piper again? Or would this guy follow him there too?

    Just as he stepped away, the boy laughed. “Luke Castellan,” he called. “If you were wondering.”

    Or

    Jason is trying to have a productive death. Unfortunately, a certain son of Hermes is making his afterlife harder than it needs to be.

    Being on the run from monsters was not something Nico had been expecting to do in his life. For all his love for Mythomagik, Nico had never believed the cards to be based on real life events. Who would ever expect myths to be real? It was madness! Yet here he was running away from the Lotus Hotel and Casino, after having been trapped in there for about seventy years. Nico had not believed that until he stepped outside of the hotel and saw how much civilization had changed. It was so loud and colorful, so chaotic!

    What made everything worse was the fact that Nico was following four ghosts. Yes, you heard him right. Four ghosts! Not only myths were real, but so were ghosts! Nico was sure he was losing his mind.

    Nico told Hazel about the pomegranate seeds and what he was planning to do while Hazel went on the quest with Percy and Frank.

    ["They're a last-resort food, according to what I've overheard." The seeds gleamed under his touch. The crimson flashed on his veiny skin. For a moment, Hazel thought Nico had cut himself. "A few Underworld children can consume it to stay alive without proper food or water," a pause, "As of when we were stranded, immobilized, or trapped. Or there simply isn't human food where we end up."

    The way Nico said it, Hazel had a feeling he knew those places.

    She tried to think of one. The Field of Asphodel was the first to come to mind. Seventy years of looking into the endless loneliness had stripped her of the humane hungry. Souls didn't eat. She had forgotten how eating felt like. So when Nico had brought her to a McDonald's for the first time after dying, she'd wolfed down whatever was on the table as if the flavors, the smell of food, and the feelings of fullness in her stomach were all her long-lost lovers.

This proves to be quite difficult when a threat darker than anything he has seen looms in the distance and suspicion starts to leak through. How can Jason figure out who to trust if he's lying as well?

    Tuesday was particularly memorable for more reasons than that. Tuesday was the day Hestia destroyed Kronos’ scythe. Tuesday was the day Luke Castellan destroyed Kronos. Tuesday was the day Camp Half-Blood held off the Titan Army in Manhattan. Tuesday was the day Nico di Angelo and his father Hades fought to save Olympus. Tuesday was the day Poseidon helped defeat Typhon. Tuesday was the day Rachel Elizabeth Dare became the new Oracle of Delphi. Tuesday was the day Percy Jackson gave up godhood in favor of forcing the gods to claim their children. Tuesday was the day the Great Prophecy was fulfilled. Tuesday was the day the new Great Prophecy was made. And Tuesday was the day Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase finally started dating.
    But they came on Tuesday too.

    The day after the Titan War ends, changes start to happen. For some reason they seem to happen around Percy Jackson (because naturally the strange things must happen to him), Annabeth Chase (she always gets dragged into whatever mess Percy's found himself in), and Nico di Angelo (as if being the son of Hades wasn't strange enough). As they enter the next war, it's up to these three to make sure it ends right.

    When Nico di Angelo first arrived at Camp Jupiter, nobody really knew what to do with him. He was scrawny and short and looked at least a little malnourished, and the shadows clung to him like they were trying desperately to drag him into the Nether.

    Jason, for his part, thought the guy looked pretty cool, but he was only a centurion, and even as the only child of the Big Three, saying “that guy looks pretty cool” was not going to convince the Senate of anything but Jason’s impending lunacy.
