He looks at Fukuzawa and finds rather than anger or sorrow or anything else just a fierce longing. He wants things to be simple again. To be able to stroll into this office and get badgered for stealing a bite of mochi. To see Fukuzawa’s face light up at the meowing ringtone Ranpo had put on his cell. He wants this heavy weight between them to disappear. For all the remorse and grief to be water under the bridge so that Fukuzawa could just go back to being his Dad.
