“If… what I say isn’t true…” He begins, eyeing Slime carefully to see if he’ll say something. He doesn’t so much as move or hold his head up to look at her, so Mariana takes it as a sign to keep going, “Then I would not be here, with you. But I am. I want to do better, for you.”
Still nothing. Slime sits, unmoving, the only part of him that does are his eyes closing shut.
“Let me prove it to you.”
Mariana scootches closer, once again testing the waters. Slime doesn’t budge as he continues to sit while hugging his legs.
He puts a hand on Slime’s shoulder, and the other man jerks his head up suddenly. The two stare into each others’ eyes for a moment, and it almost felt like this could have been any other day. A sense of calm washes over them both, but not before Slime can say quietly, “Is this the part where you kiss me or some cheesy shit like that?”
(Or, Mariana finds Slime after Purgatory and tries to make amends. And maybe regain what they've lost. With maybe a couple shenanigans along the way)

As they progressed, the number of red flowers increased and the lush green forest began to be decorated with red flowers and blue birds. Empanada withdrew her hand and looked at her brother and said with a cowardly attitud “Richas, I think I gave up. I don't want to meet Jaiden.” Richarlyson started laughing when she said, “Em, we've been on the road for almost 2 hours and you gave up 6 times. Okay, if that's what you want, we can come back right now." Richarlyson looked his sister in the eye and Empanada asked, “You always said you came here. Why?" Richarlyson laughed “Because Tia Jaiden is the only one who can get me into the shower,” Empanada wasn't expecting this. "What?" Richarlyson continued to laugh when she said, “Em, trust me, Tia Jaiden is one of the nicest and funniest people on this island. You walked around the island with everyone and saw what everyone was going through through their eyes. Everyone hates the federation. You should also look through Tia Jaiden's eyes. And most importantly," Richarlyson took his sister's hand. "She's your mother." Empanada took a deep breath, "Okay, let's go."

It felt a little like a Deja Vu because Fit had that same something in his eyes that made Roier’s skin itch. The thing was, there was this little book. They couldn't tell him where they found it, but there was this little book, and it had something they thought Roier should see.
Roier guesses something inside him already knew that book would change everything because his hands were shaking when he took it from Fit. It was like any other book he had ever seen on the island before, if a little roughed up, and it obviously had been tampered with. There were numerous pages missing and huge chunks of text blacked out, but it still was just a little book.It had no right to change everything like that.
Or the one where Roier has to face reality. Recovery is not something linear, nor is grieving, and sometimes people have to be their worst to deal with it.
