Summary
Broken by grief inflicted during the Final Days and tempered to Zodiark besides, Azem - an Unsundered Ascian - discovers the fragmented soul of their lost best friend in Corrain, the Warrior of Light. Unable to stay away from him, Azem slowly learns how to live again among the loss, and how to look to the future instead of stay mired in a nostalgia- and pain-tinted view of the past that never truly existed.

Hades rolled his eyes. “To you, Hythlodaeus, and to you, Dionysius.” He tapped his glass against each of theirs. “I’m not saying I love you, but...” he trailed off and shrugged, the unspoken words plenty clear.
Hades, Hythlodaeus, and an Azem named Dionysius (and a feline familiar named Shanoa) spend New Year's Eve drinking on the top of the Bureau of the Architect. It's well-known that the Bureau has the best view of the city!

Summary
When the elderly Elidibus suddenly and unexpectedly returns to the star, Azem gets dragged back to Amaurot to help fill in the gap left by the missing Convocation member. To keep the former Elidibus's work moving apace, Azem, Nabriales, and a very tired Chief of the Bureau of the Architect are tapped to split up Elidibus's workload while the Convocation tries to appoint a new Elidibus. With both extra work and the unpleasant prospect of hours upon hours of bureaucratic committee meetings, nobody is happy. But at least Elidibus left them a very bright young executive assistant, Themis, who is more than eager and willing to offer his assistance.
And a certain Dionysius still owes his two best friends a feast. And dessert.

“Far be it from me to suggest postponing our retirement for the evening, but I feel simply noisome. Might either of you be interested in accompanying me to the baths?”
Indeed, she’d amassed an unpleasant layer of dried sweat and pollen, her skin sticky. Sleep had come to her in worse-off conditions before, but the Miqo’te was never one to turn down a basin of warm water.
Even Emet-Selch, who so often protested against creature comforts, gave one sharp nod.
Floor-length, gauzy white robes were provided on a hanging rack. Hythlodaeus pointed them out, explaining they were a kind of uniform to be worn within the facility. She pursed her lips once the robe was in her hands, realizing that the fabric was, well… sheer.
After a hard day in Elpis, the Warrior of Light is invited to join Hythlodaeus and Emet-Selch for a relaxing swim at the baths. She's surprised to find that it is actually a public bath house, complete with fully expected nudity.
