Hamato Yoshi walked into the pet shop with one goal in mind. He needed a distraction. After asking the clerk for the most distracting pet, he was shown a clutch of four baby turtles, three males and one female. He was told of the odd relationship the turtles seemed to have. He was warned that the males seemed fixated on the female despite being siblings. He was explained of their animalistic purpose to mate and breed. He ignored it. Yoshi wanted a challenge so he decided to take the turtles regardless and train them out of such habits. He never expected to be mutated with them. Finding a home within the sewers, Yoshi no longer saw them as pets but as his children. They were so human, yet very much turtles. Splinter would never have assumed that same fixation would have survived their mutation. He never assumed his sons would have such feelings towards his daughter. His sons were more feral and dangerous than he ever assumed. Splinter does everything in his power to end this obsession, but they will stop at nothing to claim her for themselves, even if they have to hide their feelings for her to do it.

"Uh-huh, see you later," Leo said, seemingly unconcerned, before gasping and dropping his comic book on the floor. It hit the floor with a muted smack. "Wait, WHAT?!"
Donnie froze halfway to the door. Raph and Mikey's heads shot up in surprise. Leo was already scrambling to stand, a determined furrow in his brow ridges. Donnie wanted to kick something. There it was, the thing he’d been worried about.
or: After a mysterious attack from the Purple Dragons, Donnie and April are set to go on a solo mission into the Hidden City. Normally they would be able to do this without intervention, but not this time.

The Purple Dragons are after the location of the turtles' lair. In order to find it they track down two of the turtles' closest friends for information: April O'Neil and Casey Jones.
April manages to get away and warn her friends,
