Hughie sneered. The only thing he could see was Butcher’s raged up expression, all up in his face.
His words hurt. But they only served to assure him that he had made the right call. Butcher was just angry. He didn’t give a fuck about Hughie. No one did.

Billy Butcher had had enough of this. Being helpless. Human. Fragile. Obedient. He'd let his guard down and look who'd been head-popping right under their noses.
Everybody assumed it was a knife fight even though Butcher kept reminding them that they were gonna get gunned down by the fucking supes. He had to level the playing field. Now he finally had a chance.
If his balls swell up to the size of footballs then so fucking be it. He probably won't even be alive long enough to regret it anyway. With that thought he shot up the tempV and breathed through the spreading burn.

Butcher isn't complaining, but Hughie just might regret not being a bit more direct.
Or, Hughie can't think of any other way to get Butcher to allow himself to dote on him. Without a logical reason, Hughie creates one. He asks Butcher to give him a spanking.
