Summary
A few months ago, Hannibal was found to be the Chesapeake Ripper right after he bonded with Will. Of course, Will was destroyed, and it's taken him a bit to even partially bounce back. However, there's another serial killer trying to play a game Will is overtly done with, and Jack is insistent that Will talk to his incarcerated mate he's been writing to so they can learn more about their Tooth Fairy. Despite his avoidance and protest, Will is forced to see familiar demons for the greater good.

Amnesia- AU : Will hat einen Autounfall und verliert dabei Teile seines Erinnerungsvermögens. Die Störung wird als temporärer Gedächtnisverlust diagnostiziert. Er erkennt seinen Verlobten Hannibal nicht wieder und denkt plötzlich, dass stattdessen Frederick Chilton sein Lebensgefährte sei. Dieser, der schon vorher mehrfaches Interesse am Profiler bekundet hat, ergreift die unverhoffte Chance und belässt Will in diesem Glauben, auch darum, weil der Arzt davor warnt, Will vorerst nicht mit der Wahrheit zu konfrontieren, da dies unschöne Folgen mit sich führen könnte. Hannibal muss also damit, dass Will plötzlich bei Frederick wohnt und ihn als seine einzige, große Liebe ansieht, leben. Und das Unwissen, ob Will sich überhaupt jemals wieder erinnern wird, bringt ihn schier um. Zumal Frederick während der gemeinsamen Zeit, die ihm mit dem Profiler beschert wird, nicht untätig bleibt um diesen davon zu überzeugen, dass er offenkundig die perfekte Partnerwahl ist.

Will is not too happy about it, being dragged to an event where he knows no one and is probably just stated as the crazy man who has been in the BSHCI for months. AU : Will has a car crash and loses parts of his ability to remember. The disorder is diagnosed as a temporary memory loss. Among other things, he does not recognize his fiance Hannibal again and (of some unknown reason) suddenly thinks that instead Frederick Chilton is his life companion. Federick, who has already expressed mutual interest for the profiler several times before, takes the unexpected opportunity leaving Will in this belief, also because the doctor warns to confront Will too early with the truth, as this could cause unpleasant consequences. Too rapid comparison with this might put his memories to sleep forever.
So Hannibal must therefore bear that HIS fiance suddenly lives in Fredericks house and sees him as his true love, at least for a certain amount of time. And the uncertainty, whether Will will ever remember again or not, almost kills him. Especially since Frederick uses the bestowed time to convince Will he's obviously the perfect choice for being his only lover. Will has to struggle with conflicting feelings himself and comes relatively soon to a point where he no longer knows how to distinguish reality from memory and truth from lies. -
