The red lights of the goal lit up, as the blaring sounds of the honk signaling they scored the last goal at the last second. The roar of the crowd following right after was deafening. A buzz shaking over every cell of his body with adrenaline. They had won, and who doesn’t like winning?
Taking off his helmet, his head lifted to look at the bleachers. The people were standing, shouting his name, cheering his team, smiling, just as euphoric as he was.
Yet, none of that is enough to trap his attention. What his brown eyes were endlessly searching for was a tall lean figure, hair as black as a starryless night sky and eyes a light gray, that in the right lighting, mirrored a pearly full moon.

Jean Moreau exists solely as the third member of Prince Riko’s perfect court of knights. However the failure to bring the Kingdom of Palmetto’s rising vanguards-man Neil Josten into the mix resulted in his Prince sending him to the dungeons.
A life for a life. It was deserved, he thought. Though he knew his Prince would not kill him for this.
He did not expect a rescue. And he certainly hadn’t expected it in the form of his former friend, and Prince of Palmetto staging an attack of Castle Evermore.
He should have predicted when he fled, wounded, that the knights of Palmetto would not follow him into the woods to the west.

Careful, projecting each movement, Jeremy catches Jean’s pinky finger once more, this time just with his index. “Look, I don’t know what happened but I’m really not comfortable letting you just leave.”
